I was there watching it all live.
Jasmin's feat was great even considering that she had maybe 3 or 4 opponents who could even hope to beat her.
Ralf's job was much harder. He had stiff competition from from many top Euro players. He's so hard to beat.
In the 9ball final he did not miss a single ball, but had two scratches on the break. It went to hill-hill against very talented Polish player Sniegocki. Both guys were very near Accu - stats 1000. It was near perfect pool, certainly the best I have ever seen in person.
Ralf had the final break. Usually even the best players don't produce the best break on the final rack due to nerves. Not Ralf. He nailed it. And the way he ran those final balls...minimal cueball movement, perfect angles, never the slightest doubt...just brilliant.
Of course there were some less experienced players around me who kept asking questions like "why doesn't he go 3 rails with inside" or "why did he leave himself longer shot"...etc. I simply told them that this isn't a particular style, but this really is the most optimal way to play pool.
