Ran a 23 today here is the ending pattern.

I wonder why that turned out so jerky? The dvd was perfect and other vimeo videos I have watched seemed okay. What did I do wrong?

Works fine here Dave. And BTW, that is a LOT better than a few three ball runs!

How far Northwest are you? Would you drive as far as Waukegan to get acquainted and have a game?

Dave,

I live at 59 & 90 (west end of Hoffman Estates) and I would be MORE than happy to drive to Waukegan! It might be a couple of weeks as I am gonna be on vacation soon until the 16th.

Thanks for the thought!

I ran a 28 today, just 1 short of my previous high of 29 set about 30 years ago. No video, it occurred in a match in our 14.1 round robin at Boomers in Sturtevant.

I ran13 and set up a good break shot. I made that and ran the rack for 27. The break ball for the third rack was about an inch off the side rail at about mid rack. The cue ball was near the opposite side pocket. About a 45 degree cut angle on the break ball then off the rail into the stack. I made the shot and broke the rack pretty good but left not a shot. Of course, I should have played safe but I was so far ahead of my very weak opponent that I felt I could try anything. The only thing I could find was a one rail kick for a ball that was about 2 1/2 feet from the corner pocket. I hit the ball but not the pocket. I hope this isn't a double post. I thought I had posted it but I don't know where it went.

dave: sounds like you did the right thing by trying to break the rack open and not play safe. did you get stuck in the middle of the pack?

dave: been there done that. on those b-balls i try to hit the top ball in the stack and control my speed. hitting the middle of the pack is dicey at best. oh, and you might want to contact the vimeo support folks and ask them why your vids are funky. if you can convert them to a flash format before uploading that might help. i use a nifty little mac app called "VisualHub" for my video conversion. i'd be lost without it.
