Randell Frey Tulipwood Cue

Thanks you guys...I honestly am looking forward to it. I may change the wrap on it though. I am probably going to either put textured leather or a black linen wrap on the cue...I think the speck wrap may be a bit too distracting from the wood. We will see ;)

I was informed by a pretty well respected cumaker that Randall Fry was a collector, turned "wannabe" cuemaker who has dropped out of the pool scene. So I guess that's a piece of history.;)

I have also read somewhere that he has passed away after a battle with cancer last year. They say he was a very colorful character...some cool stories I read online.

Cue came today and WOW...this thing is one gorgeous piece of tulipwood. I have never seen a piece this big and this pretty. Really really nice grain...excellent color. It almost looks like some of the old plain wood McDermotts I have owned, but MUCH better wood quality and color. Yes, I believe I will change the wrap to a solid black if I decide to add it to my collection.

Overall, I think I got a great deal on this cue!
