Isn't sport supposed to be an art to be mastered which makes you better as long as you practice:D

The problem with this debate-that-won't-die is that it is hollow at its core. We think we're arguing about pool or chess or basketball, when really we're just arguing about the definition of a word.

Because we can choose to define "sport" however we like, any or all of these things can be included or excluded depending upon the definition we agree upon. If we haven't yet agreed upon a definition, then it's too soon to discuss what is and isn't a "sport."

Around here, a "sportsman" is one who kills animals for fun, and "sporting goods" are the expensive equipment that allow a person to do it easily while remaining comfortable.

Nascar, sport only because of the significant physical endurance required.
Pool & darts tied, not very sport like, but at least aiming and some physical endurance involved.
Chess not sport, but does require strategy
Poker not even vaguely resembling sport.
Ditto . . .
