Ranking Questions?

Does anybody have the answers to these....

1) Is the IPT going to use winnings or GLI as the determiner in rankings and the eventual 50 player drop off?

2) Are the current rankings and scoring going to be carried over to next year? If so will this be a continuous ranking system or will they eventually go to a yearly system?

3) On the match level in the KOH finals how do they determine the winner if the two matches end in a tie?

Good Questions, I think they are using winnings to rank players, I prefer the winning % or even the GLI over winnings, but it will work out.

It would also seem to me that they will not carry over the stats, and rank everyone yearly since new people will certainly be in for next year.

There are 3 sets/matches in the finals, best 2 out out of 3 sets/matches wins, Efren won the first 2 so no need for a 3rd.

I wonder what others think about rankings?

I thought I read somewhere that rankings are dertermined by amount of money earned.

Since in the IPT tournament all players are expected to compete in every tournament money won would be a pretty good indicator. And it is a pretty good incentive to play in every tournament. Since missing one can make the difference between finishing 100 or 101. That would prove to be very costly to the player.

The IPT website under Q&A states the following:

All the events will be round robin. We will be posting shortly the payouts and the formats. After each event we will have a ranking list of IPT players based on: first, money earned; second, games lost index; third, break and run outs; and fourth, 8-balls on the break. In each upcoming event, this is how players will be selected for their round robins. The complete formats and money breakdowns will be posted on our website.
