Rare Mcdermott Cue

I sold lots of McDermotts on this forum. AZ members are very educated and pricing might be an issue JMHO.

Ebay it is. What is a good starting bid?

Depends on how much you want to pay Ebay to sell it. By that i mean if you start the bidding at $100 or more(as opposed to starting at $9.99), you will pay a higher initial listing fee to put the auction up, and final value fees will be added on if the cue sells.

My two cents worth of cheap advise would be this if you want to get the absolute most for your cue.

First and foremost, take GOOD CLEAR BRIGHT pics to post up with your auction for all to see. It makes a huge difference..really it does. Second, be brutally honest in your description and provide any pertinant documents if you have them. Spell out your shipping policy up front in detail. Leave nothing to chance and communicate as needed with questions from buyers. Third, start your auction around 7-9pm your time on a Sunday evening. That's when most people are home and checkin out the "intrawebs".....heh:D and you'll probably get way more hits and a better price on your auction as it ends when everybody and their dog can watch it on a relaxing Sunday evening. Figure out what's the least you'll take for the cue and make your auction's reserve price that amount and start it at $9.99. Fair market will bid it up....if it hits your reserve, it's sold. If it doesn't hit the reserve, you still own the cue but still have to pay the listing fee.

that "C" series McDermott is great, back when they made better quality cues, the "D" series were good but not like the "C" series, I dont remember anything before them, I remember the $1000 cues they made as well and if my memorie is right that was about the last of the high quality McDermotts, after that they still made good cues but not near as nice as the old ones. Their shaft wood is soft too, it dings real easy. They have been a good company for the Billiard industry, and for bar leagues they make good cues today, but not like 25 years ago.

BTW: the cue that started this thread is a great deal.

I got the butt end first because they never made the shaft yet... so I got the shaft when I got it refurbish so the joint connection were flush.
