Rare old Josswest For Sale

Definitely old school classic model from Billy. I have to admit, I have never seen that joint config on a JW this old. Very unique...

Joint design

I am going to contact Bill about this joint today. Will let all know what he says Need to make some cash sales to buy a house. Serious offers that are fair may be considered.

I was wondering the same about the joint. Are the shafts the standard JOSS brass insert type?

Very classy cue BTW.

Ivory Joint or Not....This Cue is Remarkable

I'd bet a dollar vs a nickel that a cue this unique has to have an ivory joint. This cue is special and I just can't imagine Stroud not using ivory during his early Joss West production era, especially on a cue like this. But regardless, this cue has some much going for it that someone is going to be thrilled when they get to own it.

Ivory Joint

Im at like 90% on it being Ivory but want to be sure. I have a PM into Billy Stroud. Will update once I hear from him.

what about the second joint protector??

I have a Mottey joint protector! interesting a similiar one to the one on the far right(of the 2 shafts pictured! Mine came with a Gus Szam shaft. mark

Talked with Billy

Billy responded to my pm and thinks the joint may have been done at a later date, he wasn't into that kind of design technology during that time period

So, if Bill didn't convert this joint, who did?
Upon changing the joint, I'd guess the cue was refinished as well.
Also, what happened to the other shaft that was listed? Which one is now coming with the cue, the original, or new?

I'm still interested, but this info is important and will help me and others make a better decision about the value of this cue (quality of work, materials, age, etc.). Hopefully the person you got it from can provide you with some insight and history.
