I had the opportunity to check out the Rasson OX 9’ tables at Bangin Ballz in Vegas. First I’d like to say I love the room and the owner seems like a nice guy pool nerd in a good way. I walked in to just to checkout the tables and ended up playing in a 9 ball tournament. Plus I practiced for four hours two days later after leaving Griffs.

My first impression was that it looks like they perfected the GC4 top. The fit and finish was very nice, but I personally don’t care for the look of the legs. Next I crawled under the table for a look. I was surprised to see how underwhelming the frame was. It looks like under the rails there’s an aluminum box frame with two aluminum cross members connecting long side box sections where the three piece slates come together. Even though the frame seemed pretty skimpy, the table was very firm and stable when bumped.

For the most part I enjoyed playing on the tables. The tables were level and fast. I’m not a great banker but the table seemed to bank well. The corners are 4.5” or a tad more but played tighter than that, Everyone was hanging lots of balls. I didn’t measure the pocket angles but they seemed different than the Diamonds.

I played on the first one in the USA at Backwoods Billiards in Okeechobee FLA, a few years ago, Rasson advertised it on their site that it was the first OX in USA. I happened to be working in MIami and planned a stop on my way north, it played very well. banked like a GC and was set up to sell it and ran into territory/ distro issues, territorial pissings and walked away. Its nice to see something could easily replace the Diamond

Yeah, they're ok, but keep in mind, if buying a new table today, given the choice between a GC, Rasson, or a Diamond, unless you're mad at your money, the Diamond is the table to buy, if there's a chance you might sell it later on down the road! You can kiss at the minimum 50% of your money lost on the other 2 brands.

I bought a Rasson OX last November. I couldn’t decide on a Rasson or Diamond and what clinched it for me was availability. The Diamond was 8 to 10 weeks from delivery and my local dealer, Billiard Factory, had a new 9’ Rasson OX in stock ready for immediate delivery. Can I say instant gratification won out.

I play on the table every day and have no regrets. I’d played on a Diamond several times but never on a Rasson before getting this one, but they play pretty similar. I think the side pockets on the Rasson are a little tighter. As for resale, that’s not an issue, the Rasson is here to stay. If I were to change anything I might have preferred the black one over the white I have.

You made a nice choice. I had no faith in local installers so I passed. The Rasson looks well built… nice fit and finish. Post a pic of your white table if you do not mind. Same here as to resale never being a concern. Buy right the first time and enjoy it until.

Here's my pool room

I got an email back from Rasson about pocket sizes.

Thanks for your email.

Our pool tables built at before for most markets usually are cut as per WPA specs at 4.5" corner and 5" side if no special requirement from customers; but we've changed to 4" corner and 5" in default since last month if customers don't have special requirement to the size.

If you need a special pocket size, you may let our dealer know what size you want when you place the order and we could customize the size in production.

Thanks&Best Regards,
