Raven or Rhino

I have a radial pin break butt that needs a new shaft. I have narrowed it down to either a Raven or Rhino carbon break shaft. They both work out similarly priced after shipping, does anyone have any experience with both shafts? Is there a clear winner it term of build quality / construction and performance?
Also if anyone else knows of another manufacturer around the same price point that I've missed please let me know!

Thanks

I went with the Raven just because of the diameter at the joint fits my cue better and it's flush at the joint.
The Raven is 21.3mm and the Rhino is 21.5mm that's a big difference.

Rhino taper is "Hybrid pro taper" I have no idea what it means. Raven has a pro taper that is a bit different from a classic brake shaft that used to have a more conical taper that provides a bit more power, but the pro taper is more comfortable when breaking from the bed to table with a closed bridge, and still the Raven provides plenty of power.

I've written in the past when I got the Raven that I was expecting a lot more power compared to wood, but it was similar. Well, after a month or more of using the Raven, Last night, I took my other break cue that had a wooden shaft with a phenolic ferrule and a Samsara break tip, (which I claimed was just as powerful) to play and it felt a lot less powerful than the Raven, so I guess the Raven is more powerful even with a pro taper.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check the joint diameter.

I can relate about the difference in power. I have recently been using a BK Rush but switched back to an old OB break cue for a session and there was a very noticeable difference. It took some time but I think I'm sold on carbon for break cues, but not for playing cues!

I have a Raven CF break shaft, that I had plugged and tapped to fit my Cuetec Break Cue. I had the standard tip removed, and replaced with a Pechauer C4 break tip. The setup is very nice.

I'm currently using Rhino on a radial and have been pretty happy with it. Only "negative" to me is that the factory tip isn't the best. I replaced it with a Taom Fusion on one and a Caiden Fighter medium on the other. I like the Fighter a bit better.

I've ordered a Raven and it should be here sometime next week. I'll try and come back with comparisons.

$180, has it always been that price? Or is it tariff adjusted? It's about $80 to buy on Taobao. A couple of people at my hall use this. It's a good starter at the price point, but the quality amongst the samples I've seen varies massively. Makes a horrible tinny sound.

I have a Rhino break shaft with a Tiger pig skin break tip on it. I had used a Zento break tip. My breaking is very much light years ahead of when I used other tips and shafts.

Lesson? It's all about the technique bay-bee!!!!! I've spent hours breaking and it has really shown up in the results. I chose the Tiger pig skin tip because the zento broke and the Tiger was the only break tip available at the time. Easy choice

I always wanted a "carbon fiber cue stick shaft". Especially one that the end is on fire. The only thing wrong with this product is the price. Everyone knows you have to spend $500 or more to get one that hits a ton. Jeez.
