Re-Designed Talisman Cases?

I have always admired, and wanted, one of the Talisman Tribal cases. I may just have an opportunity to finally acquire one. I was curious if anyone here has seen or owns one of the newly re-designed Talisman cases? I did notice that the reddish brown leather option is gone and has been replaced with a more golden tan leather....which I think I actually like better. I would like to hear some opinions on these cases before I make my final decision. Are these cases heavier or lighter than the leather Instrokes? I know the vinyl Instrokes are pretty darn heavy.

Thanks in advance!!

I got one of the early cases and wasn't real happy, the deal seemed great and the people were real nice to work with, but IMO the case was just sub par. I did like many of the features they had but the workmanship just wasn't there and the case was bulky and just looked cheap. Many things have changed since then so I am not trashing the new cases, but I will say for an extra few dollars go with a Justis they are far ahead of every other case out there and Jack is one of the best in the business to deal with. I know it seems like a lot more, but what's 100-200 when you are talking about a lifetime of use and protection for that masterpiece? I'd say wait a bit longer and go with the best, you will not be upset with your choice.

Can't go wrong with a Justis, or Whitten... Pool Case are like most thing, you get what you PAY FOR. Also there was theat guy JIMM Offering his Case last year that people seemed to like Real Well. Mr. Wilson has the Link to those cases when he posts, and loves his....

Talisman has some great ideas in their Case Design, but there Q.C. need to be watched closer IMO....

The new Pro-Lite Justis is 1 pound lighter than the older Tribal...me personally...go with the Justis. Better investment and prettier case as well.

Hi Lisa and all --- I've also liked the pics of the Talisman Tribal but never seen one myself. Have used both the Justis and Whitten. If your budget allows it you can't go wrong with either IMO.

The Justis cases are absolutely beautiful, top notch quality and functional except for the pockets. Access to all your stuff thru a short zipper slit in the box pockets is a pain and my only gripe.

The Whitten case quality is also excellent with a slightly lighter glove-quality leather. The style is a bit more subdued and very classy I think. Maybe a slightly lighter case than the Justis but I never bothered to weigh the difference. All stitching is even and sturdy. Pockets are easy to access thru longer 3 sided high quality zippered pockets and a zippered top lid. Really like the sturdy handle and shoulder straps. Several styles to choose from, the colors on the Whitten homepage are a bit off.

Would add a Justis pic if I could move it from my Kodak "Easy Share" software. :(
Good luck with your choice. Everyones preference is a bit different.

Lisa,

Justis cases are works of art, all right. But I truly love my Talisman case. I love the chalk pocket, the backpack straps (great at BCA Nationals!), all the full-length storage pockets accessible from both sides and the top. I love the stitching and the color. It even comes with tips and a storage bag. And they can tool your name on the back. The workmanship is superb and they will fix anything if you need it. I get SO many compliments on my case every time I walk out the door.

Weight is commensurate with a Justis, because of the thick leather. But the backpack straps distribute the weight evenly on long jaunts.

This picture is from my first 2/4 when I had an extra-long shaft. My new one is a 3/5 with the newer leather which is not as bright orange and is actually a lot smaller.

Hope this helps on your decision.

Linda

OnQ Case

I think Justis cases are excellent, but I really like my OnQ case. Garth worked with me on every bit of the design and materials. The quality is outstanding!
