Re:New MEZZ WX900

Just received my Mezz WX900 shaft today. So far I am about 12 racks in and I have to say. I am loving it more and more. At first the diameter (12 mm) is tough to get used to but once I started looking past that I was able to really soak in the feed back I wanted. It feels much easier to do more with the cue with less effort. At first I was over positioning the cue ball. But gradually made improvements. I will keep you guys posted as I will be putting this shaft to the test over the weekend.

I have to agree. Mezz pricing is bordering on criminal IMO. I have no objection to that sort of money of it were offering something truly niche, unique and special, but, as far as I can tell, they ain't.

I agree it isn't cheap. I have been itching to get a new cue but this will buy me some time and satisfy my urge. But as far as the shaft, I really like it.

How does it perform compared to WD700 or Hybrid Pro II shaft?

Previously I shot with a WD700 which I will be selling on here shortly after I get it all cleaned up. I never shot with a hybrid shaft. This is unique because its not as thin as a Z2 or isnt as whippy. It has good feed back. As of now I have been able to use less English and get better results. But I'm still practicing with it.

I think wx900 is a wonderful shaft. It deserves every dollar you spent on it. I never saw a shaft that can bend the angles so much. Happy shooting !

Do you know the difference between the WD700 and the WX700?

Thought I'd throw this in

Yes it has a new ferrule like wx900 and Kamui tip instead of moori

Got a Mezz Power Break Pro with the H shaft. All I can say is Holly Cow!!

Mezz, although I've heard of them, do not have much of a retail presence in the USA.

After hearing so many players talk about the New Power Break Pro I had to get my hands on one.

I'm extremely impressed, this is a first class cue. The fit and finish and overall quality of this product is the best I've seen in any production cue. No joke.

Reminds me of the difference between a Honda and a Chevy when comparing it to some USA production cues.

Yes, their prices are hard to swallow, and I think for many this will be a deal breaker, but in this case you are definitely getting a quality product.

Now I would like to get one of their players to check out with the new 900 shaft. And here is the problem with Mezz, at least for me.

The only way I know how to try their stuff is to order it from them in Japan ... Not like I can get one with a good return policy from a major dealer here in the USA.

Perhaps I just do not know where to shop. If so please point me in the right direction.

i was looking for months and didnt find anyone playing with a mezz to test one out.

bought it blind... and i love it. perfect quality, great, stiff playing cue. i love it.

Really, Mezz PB pro with H shaft is the best break cue in the world. Holly bull will be the name :) Regarding Mezz dealers, you have Mezz USA http://mezzusa.com

Thanks madfox .. I am now aware the Seyberts have become a dealer. They do not have the new 900 shaft in stock yet, or the Power Break Pro. Perhaps when production catches up with supply they will become more available.

Can't you get one from set ergs or j&j America cues? Even pooldawg has then for sale

I've heard that the WX900 is a great shaft. Myself, I've settled on using something a little larger, so while I used to shoot with the Z2 / OB2 type shafts, I now prefer something closer to 12.5mm, so the WD-700 (or new WX700) is more to my liking.

I love the WX700 I just got, it plays great and feels more like a traditional shaft than a lot of the other LD shafts. And deflection/squirt is almost identical to the 314-2, OB1, OB Classic, etc., very interchangeable. Almost felt too stiff at first, but after a few practice sessions now it feels just right.

Curious if the WX900 compares to the Z2/OB2 shafts as far as deflection goes, since it's a little larger. I think the WX700 is able to compare to the comparable shafts since it's a little smaller than those, which are at 12.75mm.

Anyway, Mezz makes a great product, harder to get and harder to service and pricier for sure but worth it. If I could get my hands on the break cue and try one out I would be convinced to give up my BK2 if I liked it better, regardless of cost.

I was thinking of getting this shaft trying out the BD ss360 right now and I'm in love so far
