Reaching out to new players

I'm a pretty new player, but there's definitely a difference in attitude between those people who just show up to hit balls because there's nothing better to do and those have any amount of interest in the game. I'm more than willing to share whatever I've learned with whoever asks... I think the problem is, most don't ask. Which is unfortunate.

I have this same problem at my college. I just organized a billiards club but no one has any interest in it. I try my best to get people into the game; if I see people struggling I'll go over and offer my assistance. Players who know me always come to me and ask for help. People don't mind asking, the problem is no one ever seems to listen.

You put it perfectly. I love the game and love to share that with other players, it's just that no one seems to care...

It seems that in this sport you get a lot of attitudes where people are determined to do it themselves. I think that is due to the fact that the sport is very captivating and makes people just want to play.

So in my opinion the time to instruct them especially if they are like that is to tell them something, sort of plant a seed and even if they really dont want to hear it maybe they wont be able not to think about it in a few minutes when they play. So in a sly sort of way you will be helping them and maybe you will see some improvement and some members who get fired up.
