This Tournament is changing its name and adding more dates for 2008.

I got this off the BCAPL site and some of the details for the 2008 season are contained in the story

The Texas Open Players Tour, soon to be known as Southwest Amateur Tournaments, hosted their Texas Open II at the Amarillo Convention Center in Amarillo, TX, Nov 2-4th.

Playing under The Southwest Eight Ball League and BCA Pool League rules, 88 players in all drove from as far afield as Colorado and Oklahoma to compete. And let's not forget Texas. San Antonio, Austin, Odessa, Dallas-Ft Worth were well represented as 20 Scotch double teams, 22 women and 64 Men played their hearts out on the Diamond 7? Smart Tables decked with Simonis 860 Tournament Blue cloth. Tight, Pro cut 4-1/2? pockets and Red Circle cue balls with Super Aramith Pro balls comprised the best equipment in tournament play today. The new BCAPL table lights, complete with scoring beads, kept track of the action.

Men?s division-Matt Valdez of Colorado made it worth the visit as he conquered Dallas' Clay Renfro in the finals from a field of 64 men. Jim Ryan, also from the Dallas The Southwest Eight Ball League, welcomed third.

Women?s division--Our congratulations to Nina Stillwell from the Metro Pool League of Arlington, Twila Horne from Odessa/Permian Basin Pool Players League, and Kellie Beard from the Amarillo Lone Star Eightball League who finished first thru third.

Up coming events at the E-Center in Harker Heights, TX next year will add two new divisions -- MASTERS and SENIORS. Dates are slated for Feb. 8-10th, July 18-20th, Oct. 17-19th, and a 9-ball event, Nov. 27-29.

Entry forms and more details are available on www.sw8ball.org or www.playbaca.com websites.

I can't wait for this tour!!

These Will Be Awesome Tournaments

I went to the Dallas and Amarillo events and they were awesome to say the least. Robert Tabor and all those associated with these events are doing a fantastic job in bringing "mini-BCA Nationals" action to the Texas region.

The Diamond tables are awesome and people from all over the country, if you can make it out to these events, you don't want to miss out on all the fun, action and competition.

These kind of events are what I live for, and if you are a pool maniac like me, I hope to see you all at any of these events in Killeen.

BTW, the web sites are www.sw8ball.org and www.playbca.com to find out more information about these events. It's all good!!!:D

help

I can't find a link to the entry forms... can someone help?

Just heard it's triple elimination! I assume both scotch and singles.

Are their going to be any stops in Houston...

As far as I know there will not be any stops in Houston. All of these are going to be played in the location listed. Equal distance for most to travel.

I was at the event held in Houston erlier this year.

Bumpity Bump! You'll love this tournament! Remember, you don't have to be in a league to play, but you can't be a road player. And, now there is a men's master division.

Singles and scotch 8 ball on Diamond 7 foot bar tables... woohoo!

I read triple elimination now, too!

Cool
