Hi all,
I have decided to trade/sell my first custom cue ever. After some soul searching and a realization that I care FAR more for piloted joint cues, I'm putting this one out there to see if there's any interest. It's a great cue, and plays great....but since my swap to piloted joints, this cue just doesn't fit my tastes.
I will say this up front. The cue has my initials in the buttsleeve. I'm VERY MUCH aware that not everyone out there fits the M.T.R. bill...so I'm allowing a good amount off the price of the cue to have the new owner be able to get the backend redone and refinished.
This cue was recently sent back to Mr. Holmes for a polishing, new tips, a new light textured leather wrap. All pieces are straight and solid, together and apart.
Here's some info on it:
Butt - 15.5 ounces, 29.6" long from buttcap to joint collar. 4 ebony points into BEM with white/blue/black veneers. Blue marblized rings at B, C, D, and E. Flat faced wood to wood joint with steel collar and black phenolic subcollar. Black lightly textured leather wrap. Ebony sleeve (with MTR in light brown/tan). Solid ivory buttcap. There appears to be a very thin scratch in the buttcap from the sleeve to the bumper. I looked it over real well, and it does not go into the meat of the ivory, from what I can tell. Recently cleaned, polished, and rewrapped by Mr. Holmes. "Wayne" written on the forearm in gold ink (barely visible..to prevent taking away from the beauty of the cue).
Shaft 1 - 3.5 ounces, 12.75/12.8mm diameter with mammoth ivory ferrule and Triangle tip. 29.6" long. Straight and sound. A few sugar marks on the shaft, but has no bearing on the playability. Black phenolic collar with blue marblized ring to match the rest.
Shaft 2 - 3.5 ounces, 12.75/12.8mm diameter with mammoth ivory ferrule and Triangle tip. 29.6" long. Straight and sound. Black phenolic collar with blue marblized ring to match B, C, D, and E.
Both shafts have been cleaned well, and the cue is ready to play.
SOLD, SOLD, SOLD!!!
