Really old cue ID

Global warming is bad?
Silver Member
I was given this by my 60-year-old karate instructor in Dodge City. He told me his father said it was really old when he acquired it. It has four spliced points plus a weird asymmetrical butterfly splice. Maybe it was just repaired that way but I can't imagine anyone going to that kind of trouble. Here are some photos. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it was an old fashioned repair.
When a cue warped, you could have a straight piece spliced on.
I played in some old rooms where a lot of the house cues were done this way.
