Did he provide any insight to why their page has been down? I’ve been trying to order a Littman for the past week and the lack of a website has me a bit concerned. That email worked. He responded the same day. My light ships next week. Thanks.
Define traditional? Why so many recommendations for lights made for an operating room.
I prefer a dark room and was hoping someone recommended the op with more traditional lights.
Tiffany lights. The holy grail of lights. You get the idea. Stained glass.Define traditional?
Those provide terrible lighting for a pool table. Players who are serious about the game are not buying those lights.Tiffany lights. The holy grail of lights. You get the idea. Stained glass.

I like it.Part of me would love to upgrade to a perimeter light but I’m a sucker for things that I’ve had forever and struggle to let them go. My pool light I got when I was 16 so it’s been with me for 36 years (insane I’m that old now) through multiple houses and tables. amazingly it still worked but I took it over to my brother in laws house because It was only a single bulb and I wanted it upgraded. He gutted it and put in led panels. the amount of light is perfect Now But still.. a diamond light to match my table or a parameter light would be sweet lol maybe I’ll just move the old light over above my work bench![]()
Who said anything about making excuses? I just pointed out the obvious that it doesn't produce quality light for playing pool Could I still play and runout on a table with that lighting? Sure, but over the course of a long session, it will cause eye fatigue. They are form over function. Why in the world would you select something like that when there are many other options available that are more ideal and far less expensive?Gotcha.
Put down lights as another excuse as to why you suck.
It all started with cues then chalk them shafts. Now lights.
Efren will run racks with a flashlight my friend.
I understand and I play under some area lights made by Predator. They are the most expensive ones they sell and my pool room outfitted all their tables with them. Owners were so disappointed by how bright they were and had to buy some module to plug into every light to dim them.Who said anything about making excuses? We play at 50% max and its ok to play on. On tournament nights they would blast them 100% and those things are super super bright. To the point where your eyes will hurt.
What I'm trying to say is beware of buying these lights because once you put them in your house then there is a possibility you wish you never bought them.
They are what they market them as....TV lights.
Good information. Knowing your attention to detail I will gladly take your word for it.Anything that will give you the following:
- Desired Kelvins (temp). I prefer 5000K.
- 20,000 Lumens (total).
- Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 90 or higher.
Any idea where an original Gold Crown light with florescent tubes falls on this scale?? It uses 8ea, 4' tubes, I think I went from a 35 watt to a 40 watt tube and more orange (like an incandescent bulb) rather than that harsh white. The light seems to work very well, its the only one I have on when shooting pool in an otherwise unlit room.Anything that will give you the following:

Depends on the bulbs you get. I don't recall what style fluorescent bulbs it uses. You should be able to source bulbs with similar specs.Any idea where an original Gold Crown light with florescent tubes falls on this scale?? I appreciate that you are building your room around the pool table.I looked at all sorts of lights for the room/table and decided to go with the 4 pot . There's a 60 watt LED in each pot and they give off plenty of light and not seeing the glare of the bulbs when sitting or playing. I added 14 ping pong balls on a wire with a larger plastic ball painted red in the center for marking games. The wife had a bunch for her crafts and I thought I need some for my craft lol
