Reduce shaft diameter, or buy new?

spot?

I picked up an AE cue that has an extra large diameter shaft, I haven't measured it but it's noticeably larger than my other 13MM shafts.

I'd like to get a 12.75MM - 13MM shaft w/radial pin, I'm curious what you guys recommend either getting the shaft redone, or buying another one. (the ferrule has a small crack, so it needs some work anyhow.)

Thanks,
Jason

I've had over a dozen shafts turned down to 12.5mm (my preferred diameter). There should be no problem at all when done properly.

Just a thought... You may want to keep the orininal shaft original, (just for resale value) and have another shaft made to your personal specs.....

1st option)

Contact with AE cuemaker for repair ferrule and reduced diameter at 12.75MM - 13MM shaft

2st option)

Contact with your local repairman, for a new ferrule and with your specifications he can get 12.75MM - 13MM shaft and if your repairman is a serius man he will put original material AE ferrule and you will have a shaft like new for less money than if you buy a new.

What Andres said. Great advice

Thanks for the replies.

Anyone know of someone in the Chicago area that could turn down the shaft for me? I can't get ahold of anyone at AE cues, or my local cue guy.
