Reducing my Schon Shaft??

I bought a Z2 shaft for my Schon cue, but as I have played with it the taper is just too strong for my preference. I have a Meucci shaft that is 12 mm and like that taper, but I like the feel of the Schon cue. I am thinking about taking the original Schon shaft and shaving it down to 12 mm and changing the taper to the same as the Meucci. Any opinions?
