Refinish on an Espiritu

Refinish on an Espiritu - NEED ADVICE - HELP!!!

Okay, I just received a 1997 Espiritu that has some serious issues with the finish/cue.

All rings have popped through the finish.

All the edges of the points can be felt through the finish.

The butt cap feels like it is not "aligned" with the butt sleeve.

My biggest concern is; if this is sent to be refinished, I don't know if it can be refinished without losing the signature, Espiritu's signature is pretty faint between two of the points.

So my questions: A refinish and rewrap will probably cost around $150. Can a refinish be done without losing the signature? Is this going to be worth it, or should I just use the return option and return the cue...?

Signatures and collectable cues are always a deciding factor to send it back to the original Cue maker.

That's why I would like some input as to the "value" of this cue. I've seen some Espiritu's that are priced $1000 or over with no more "detail" than is in this cue. With a refinish, I think this cue could/should be worth around $700-800. That's why I'd like some input in regards to the value after a refinish to see if I'm off base with this assumption.
