Can someone explain what takes place during a refinish? How is the existing finish taken off and do you restain the cue or clean the veneers, etc.
Some actually scrape the old finish off, I prefer to wet sand til I go thru the finish, seems a little safer but that's just me, I have heard some nightmares about using chemicals to remove the finish on cues that appeared to be one thing but when the stripper was used, Big surprise, I don't recommend them.

Hello Michael, I have never done it that way, only heard people talk about it. What have you seen happen, sounds like it was pretty bad, I will never try it now anyway!!!
Thanks
I have heard about tips of points just disappearing, Points that were painted, house cue in disguise (my favorite story by the way), veneers that were colored to hide a flaw, Veneer rings that were not all veneers, there are more but that gives you the general idea.
