Refinishing a Hoppe Pro

I am about to buy a 2 piece hoppe pro to have refinished and used as a player with a 3142 shaft.

I was wondering a few things. Is the brass screw on the old Hoppes a 5/16x14 and will it fit a 5/16x14 predator shaft? Do I have to worried about the joint locking up from the brass pin/brass insert combo?
And what was the typical joint diameter of the older hoppe pros?

I would say to many variables. If I were you, although others may have a differing opinion, I would have a competent cue mechanic adapt a 314-2 blank to your Hoppe so as to insure a perfect fit to that butt. It shouldn't cost much, if any, more than what a completed 314-2 would cost.
