Hello

If a cue has got the cuemakers signature on the forearm, if the cue is sent to someone else for refinishing will the signature be gone?

Or can it be saved and refinished as well.

Best regards
Chris

Chris that is a good question. In most cases when I refinish a cue I can save the Signature. However, sometimes depending on the damage to the cues finish and where the damage is located the Signature cannot be saved.

In all cases I would first recommend sending the cue back to the original cue maker. However if this is not possible, ensure that you have a reputable person do the refinish work. In most cases, I would ask the person what they will do if the Signature is lost. The response should be that they would send the cue back to the Original cue maker to have it resigned.

If this is not possible due to what ever reason, I would take good photographs of the signed cue before and after the refinish as a record for the future.

Scott Serbine, from Proficient Billiards is a Excellent choice to have a cue refinished, Scott knows how to handle these type of situations, and this Organization is very professional.

Hope this helps

I've done several. One was a thomas Wayne with the signature in gold leaf. Awesome looking cue.

In most cases it is best to send it back to the cue maker. If it needs to be completely redone, then the cuemaker will resign it. I have refinished cues and saved the signature but it takes more time ---

There is just to many what if's that apply,
as far as what and who worked on the cue since it left the makers shop, at what point does the maker sign the cues as far as what stage in finish does he do it. What kind of finish did the maker use?
