I have a cue that has a grainier wrap on it that needs to be redone but the thread is in Great shape! I heard that you can use like bees wax and some other material with a piece of leather and it gets it hot and puts a nice finish on it.. anyone else heard this or any other ideas?

Go on Cuemakers section and do a search. That's where I found out about the wax paper method and a few others. Might wanna have a lathe though.

If you got a lathe, clean the wrap with some 409 sprayed on a cloth, hit it with a 600 grit sand paper, clean it again, spray some starch on it, use a iron to heat and press it, get some neutral kiwi shoe polish and apply with rag. it will shine like it has clear coat on it.

Take a damp cloth and wrap it around starting at the bottom or top of the wrap. Squeeze it with one hand and use the other hand to turn the cue in the direction to have the cloth wind it's way to the end of the wrap. You can do it a couple of times if it is really dirty. Afterwards, let the cue sit in the open to let any dampness dry out of the wrap. I have been doing this with cues up to about 30 years old and have not had any problems and the original wraps have been fine.

A good cleaning and burnishing it with wax paper works if you don't have a lathe... Used to turn over used cues all the time when I was younger and working at the pool hall... Little tricks can go a long way into getting 40-50 bucks profit out of a cue that needed some blemishes corrected...

Fast Orange with pumice and lanolin cleans shafts and slicks up really well... A clothes steamer and a thick rounded shot glass takes out nicks better than you could believe... and super glue can be applied with the brush from a bottle of white out, after it's been cleaned, level enough to correct clear coat nicks... FYI the super glue one takes some practice......
