Removing a weight bolt

A customer has a nice Mike Erwin cue that he says is almost an ounce too heavy and wants the bolt removed. It must be a flimsy aluminum because it just tears the head when trying to remove it. I'm sure it hasn't been messed with and I wouldn't think it should be glued in.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Larry

Good news and bad news.

I would guess if it's that hard to remove, it's glued in. The good news is a little heat will break the glue bond and allow you to remove the bolt. There have been many threads about removing weight bolts and joint pins, so do a search to find details. That's the good news.

The bad news. If it IS an ALUMINUM weight bolt, you're not going to shed "almost and ounce" by removing it.....unless it's REALLY long:embarrassed2:
