Butt cap came loose, and I made a mess with superglue trying to fix it.
Any safe ways to remove the glue without damaging the finish?
Thanks

Thanks, but will it harm the finish? Will I end-up with loose rings and be back to where I started with a loose buttcap?![]()
How to remove super glue from most household surfaces with WD-40
Ever tried to peel a sticker or old label from a bottle or jar, only to see stubborn glue residue stick to the surface? It’s also a problem for parentswd40.com.au

Good luck.
With everything that is talked about on this Forum, why would you use super glue?
LmaoIt was driving me crazy. Gorilla glue is what I had in my draw.
Nice little cue. Wasn’t packed right by the shipper.
Never heard of the maker
Sorry for making a mess of it.

It is not a good product for Construction!Think Super Glue is good product, but it is a tool there is learn curve to use properly. I tend to read instructions many times with a new products. Moving slowly until you become experienced with anything new is a good idea.
Remember many years ago at public shooting range this guy shows up with semi auto handgun.
Gentleman put magazine in this firearm 3 or 4 times, and gun don’t fire. I walk over, asked problem. He said it don’t work.
Said may I show you removing magazine, yup loaded, racked slide, fire one round.
Removed magazine, racked slide, gun was empty.
I asked you just get this hand gun? Guys say yes. I ask you buy new? Guy say yes. I asked you read instruction manual that came with gun? He reply’s no.
I suggested he read manual cover to cover, then read parts in Red Three more times.
Firearm was Glock, firearm is like Super Glue. Bad in untrained hands.
Not too late, I guess… Very soon.Lmao
You should have called or emailed.
Nope. Not to late.Not too late, I guess… Very soon.
I can’t just leave it like this.
Oh well.

O.P., Howdy;
Typically Acetone is what removes Superglue. You can also use your girlfriend's
fingernail polish remover. Actually the same stuff just smells better. Yes, if cue
has a cynoacrylate finish (superglue), then it to will suffer.

Acetone (even diluted forms like nail polish remover) will typically make most finishes look foggy. May also mess up some plastics.O.P., Howdy;
