Removing Wax Finishes

Hi, this isnt for a cue but i was wondering weather anyone knew how to remove wax from wood, ive tried sandpapaer and it just clogs so ive resorted to a cabinet scrapper are there any other ideas out there?

it appears that you are not concerned about the total finish BUT DO NOT USE A SCRAPER..this can gouge the wood.....use paint thinner or mineral spirits..then use your sandpaper to smooth it out......this will remove whatever wax and finish that is on there .....then you will have to refinish the piece...

Automotive paint supply houses carry a solution made specifically for removing wax and other surface contaniments from a finish before painting. It's fairly cheap and doesn't hurt the finish. The stuff I use is called Prep-All Wax and Grease remover. It's around 10.00 a gallon.
