Rep points idea

I was checking out a Baltimore Orioles forum and thought it was pretty interesting what they are doing with their rep points. Every time their rep bar fills up they get a small oriole bird above the bar and it starts over. I thought it would be a good idea for this site but replace the oriole bird with a cue ball, nine ball or something. It gives the rep points a little more relevance. Interesting, every time they get good rep, they get the bird. Purrfect! ;)
 
nothing? the rep bar means nothing at this point. No one is behind me on this? for or against, there has got to be some opinions on this. no?
 
I always thought it was a lil weird how the bar only goes so far... I can take someone with 0 posts to 100% with one rep now and it seems silly. I would like to see it just scaled back so that only the people with like the top ten highest points get a full bar... and then the next 50 or so the level below that... and so on.

Of course I'm always saying rep is meaningless =P And I still sorta feel that way. But I like reading the little messages people send with them. I wish you could see more than 5 at a time.
 
but... but... I have like 300 million points... I should be able to rep people who haven't even seen a computer! ...WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!#@?
