it takes around 17000 points to get green 11 boxes, so if the person repping had arouind 165,000 total points you cal lite them all up, it used to matter, now everyone has more than 160,000 REP points.
the reason why is there is inflation in the REP system. The guys neat the top all have over 100,000,000 points, so when they rep you, you get aver one milliom points, way over the 17,000 points you need to light up all the boxes.
When I started here it took me almost a year to get 10,000 points. now I have about 145,000,000. Soon it will be a billion, probably 6-8 months.
We have done the math on this many times.

Yeah I just started posting here back in may. I got 2 reps and instantly my bar was full. I was like what the heck is the deal with this rep if its so easy to get?

There's the green bar of boxes by our username and THEN there's rep points -two totally different aspects to "Rep". This VBulletin software, after having been in use on any highly trafficked forum, renders the green bar function darn near meaningless - unless you are pummeled with red, in which case you're likely a terrorist. Many will argue the points aspect of the software is completely misguided as well, and they have a point.
(BTW, to find your rep points it is on your page - found by clicking "User CP". To find where you stand in ranking by order of rep points, click member list and then click reputation).
