Repair lathe

I'm in the process of building a repair lathe for only tips and ferrules. My question is what sort of speed do i need. The motor im using is 1725 rpm and considering the drive pulley and driven pulley to have a1.5 ratio giving me 1150 rpms is that sufficient for tips and ferrules
 
I turn tips and ferrules at 900-1000 rpm, so you should be fine.
