repair of warped shaft

You could do a search here. This question comes up now and again and I'm sure there are dozens of techniques including the opposite bend and hold technique. You can even buy a shaft straightening gizmo. If you mean is there an effective technique to straighten a warped shaft that lasts, the answer is really "no." :(

If you insert that warped shaft into the hole on most cnc machines (the one that spits out finished cues one after the other) It'll spit out a perfectly straight shaft..............Sorry I couldn't resist..........Either play with the warp or just get a new shaft thats about all you got there............Dave

Take outside............
Tip first, pound in ground.......(if winter time, wait till spring)
Go to local nursery and purchase your favorite plant to tie up.....

Really not a whole lot you can do with it........depending on how bad it is...
play with it till you can't stand it more then have a new one made.
If the cue is special, any qualified cue tech can use the rings from your old shaft and you will have a new shaft with matching rings.

Good luck.........

It depends on how long the warp has been in it. If not very long you can put the shaft on the lathe and clean it with liquid shaft cleaner and 400 to 600 sand paper, but don't seal it. This leaves the pores open a little. Now take it to a pool table and bend it slightly until it rolls as straight as you can get it to. Go back to lathe right away and sand it with 600 grit and burnish it with a paper towel getting the shaft fairly warm. This seems to make the shaft lose what we call memory. Memory means it will go back to where it was before. So now that you have given your shaft amnesia seal it and hope that the loss of memory is permanent. The longer it has been in that warped position the more likely it will return to its former warped state. Shafts are kinda like most drug addicts. Some will stay straight after getting straightened out, but most will return to their warped state.

You place the ferrule end in your right hand the joint end in your left hand then pull both hands together untill they touch. This will snap the warp right out of the shaft.HEE HEE HEE!!!!!!!!
As stated already play with it the way it is or get a new shaft.
Warp on dude

Good idea!

Maybe you should get your shaft into a 12 step program:p

If it will apologize for all the shots it missed, I'll schedule the intervention right away.
