Repair or refinish...? pic included

Hi all,

I've been offered an opprotunity to purchase a cue that has sufferred a dent on the butt. My decision is basically coming down to the likelyhood and potential cost of the repair.

I've attached a close up of the butt. At first I thought it may have been a gouge, but with this pic is appears to be only a dent in the clear and the point hasn't been dug into.

The cue has a leather wrap which I would imagine would have to be removed, if a full refinish is required.

My question is whether or not the dent could just be repaired (sry if thats a stupid question), or it will need a complete refinish. Any ballpark on potential cost on these two options...?

Thanks in advance...

Someone might could do a spot repair, but the chip has been there long enough that the spot might keep the chalk dust color without a full refinish.

That gauge looks deep. If your looking for a perfect finish, the best cause of action is to refinish the buttsleeve. Beautiful Exceed btw.

I have had dozens of cues refinished by Proficient and never rewrapped any.You can save mucho dinero keeping your leather wrap.My 2 cents worth.

Looks pretty straight forward to me. That could be repaired by any experienced and skilled repair person. Without a complete re-finish.
