Replace ferrule on early ob shaft

MVPcues is the sole proprietor of the material. I put the material in Kelly's hands, because I knew he would keep it safe, organic, and as affordable as humanly possible, given how expensive the material is to source.

I knew Kelly would embrace a price point that would still make him a little, while not pricing the folks who wanted it out of the game. I've had numerous conversations with KP. He has no intention of losing control of the material.
I don't even think he would sell it back to me.
😉

Bob Dzuricky introduced Kelly and I, and I can't think of a better steward for the material. His website is set-up for easy shopping.
😎👍
And the website is........ Drum roll 🥁
nevermind i found it

But why we are on the subject im also leaning towards no ferrule at all.. since ill be shooting with a vintage dufferin one piece house cue and the wood is old growth.. i may just put a simple elk master on it and a pad underneath no ferrule.. the reason is i really dont think that wood will split, its solid and i know it will hit more firm like that so i think a soft elk master will even everything out...thoughts 🤔

Just my thoughts,
I like a phenolic pad better than the old fiber.
Reason,
strength, it's porous. Holds glue well.

Played without a ferrule for a long time. No issues. I prefer low deflection these days, so a ferrule is necessary.
Chalk carefully, I've seen people grind hard ferrules into an hourglass shape with chalk. I can only imagine how fast you could grind the wood away with careless chalking.
