Replacing a OB2 Ferrule?

I have a friend who cracked his OB2 ferrule.. I have a basic repair lathe and I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the ferrule on an OB2 - and if so, where can I get an OB2 ferrule?

I've looked around and haven't been able to find just a ferrule.. I reckon I could call OB on Monday and see if they even sell just the ferrule and from my understanding if I change the ferrule to something else like Ivory it'll take away from the original hit from the shaft - am I right?

Thanks for your help!

Certified OB cue techs can get those ferrules. If you look on the OB website, you can find a list of those cue techs. Contact one in your area and have him do the work.
FWIW, I, along with others in this forum, are on that list.

What would you charge to replace the ferrule?

I have tips and can send one with it?

Well, in the first place we don't discuss prices on this forum openly - it's a rules violation.
But you would be best to find someone closer to you. Florida has a hot humid climate that the shaft wood has become accustomed to. It is very dry here and the sudden change might cause more harm than good.
The list of authorized cuemakers is here:
http://www.obcues.com/pages/Cuemakers.html
There are 4 cue techs from Florida listed.
Hope this helps,
Gary
