Hello cuemakers and repair people. I am considering changing the uni-loc pin out of a P3 cue to Radial. Can this be done? Thanks.

I like the outer dimensions of the P3, but also like flat faced big pin cues. Uniloc occasionally comes loose. Also, it’s in my head.

If someone could make me a cue with the P3 dimensions, but a flat faced joint, and also add an extension to bottom, I would be interested in a new cue.

I could make that cue for you. LOL. I've been working and taking experimental on building whole cue.

It's not likely you'll replicate the 'hit' of the P3 unless the cue is built using C4 technology.
Dimensions ain't everything. Your pin swap is cake. Straight-forward and no additional prts needed.
There's a reason that the P3 hits the way it does. There's a bit of phenolic & splicing involved.
I'll leave it there just to see where this goes. Lol

PS - I probably shouldn't have used the term 'C4 technology'. Don't want to confuse.
P2 & P3 uses more splices but the concept is the same, lengthwise splicing.
Probably shouldn't post when I'm shooting finish either. Lol

That is kinda the answer I expected...
KJ has allready given you a reply as to why there is a good chance not to expect a cue with the same .844" - 1.25" dimensions to hit the same.
The "I like such and such pin" is to be honest, just a thing in your head.
If you have problems with the Uni-Loc comming loose, blow out dirt and chips from the insert and apply a drop of dry wax to the threads.
If you on the other hand just want another cue with a flat face joint, Radial pin and the same dimensions, that`s not a problem at all, lots of cue makers can help you with that. Mezz cues are the same dimensions as Predator and their ACE and AXI models comes with the Wavy pin, very much like Radial, that might be something to consider.

Good answer and a very popular one also. There are reasons for different joint screws and what they're made out of too. It's called personal preference.

i also want a radial p3, i have a uniloc p3 but the pin is imbedded in phenolic and i have tha carbon joint. i am afraid of it being heated to change the pin and i hear that is only way it can be done
