Want to replace the Cuetec pin with a 3/8 x 10 pin. Is this something most cuemakers can do?

Can be done, but removal of old pin can get tricky as the materiel the pin is embedded in is basically plastic, in most Cuetec cues. Will require heat to remove, as little as possible, If too much heat is used, the collar can move and become non-concentric as it is mounted to the same plastic core as the pin. Once the pin is removed and all has cooled, bore / Plug it, drill / tap and install new pin. Make sure the person doing it has done a Cuetec before.

As Dave pointed out, Cuetec is a pain to work on. If you manage to remove the pin without widening the hole, you should be good, but odds are you will melt the plastic enough to mess up the hole. The soluting is to bore out to .500", and plug the hole. Remember you will have to use a primer, so that whatever you plug with bonds with the plastic.
