Is this possible? I would like to extend the shelf on my old brunswick and wonder if anyone has ever done this.

Also, can someone tell me the distance from the back of the pocket to the center of the pocket drop, and the left and right drop by the rails from the center of the back of the pocket on a Diamond, or a Gabriels. Thanks.

Usually the shelf is measured from the mouth or opening of the pocket. If you imagine a line on the slate exactly were the points of the cushion is, from that line to the edge of your slate is considered the shelf.

Thanks, I realize that, My concern is if I extend the shelf I still want enough room for balls to drop correctly. That is why I wanted to know the distance from the back of the pocket to the front of the shelf on the mentioned tables.

I dont want balls being spit out because of there not being enough room for them to be apropriately accepted.

Still needing that info BTW.

I posted the technical data on rails, pocket openings and the like. did that not provide the information that you need?

Hi Scottster,

Did you ever figure out if this was 'do-able'?

I was thinking of possibly doing the same thing to an antique table I was given.

I tried to do this kind of thing 3 times. I nipped, tucked, sanded, profiled, glued...did everything I could...but just couldn't get them pockets any tighter, finally gave up...divorced all three of them one after another because as soon as they spoke, I realized my errors, got me a new girl with tighter pockets and she even came with a name...Diamond...man she's tight!...LMAO
