Recently bough on cl a 7 ft olhausen. Had it moved and setup by quality company. Estimated at 5 years old......excellent condition with Simonis 860 in great condition.....not 5 year old cloth.
After playing on it every time for just a few hours, table is covered with white skid marks. Always worse when my son and friends play on it.....they tend to hit everything hard like most young players. He is 17.
Can you advise the best method for cleaning? The brush will get it up, but a lot of work. And most important, is it from the balls? Did some looking and the balls are Legacy set....about $40.
My last table I owned years ago was Diamond Arkansas model with Aramith set. The set that has the marbled look.
Never had this issue......only cleaning was chalk dust.
Please confirm if you agree it is the balls, advise on how to clean it properly, and what ball set to buy.
I really dont want to go $250 into a set of balls, yet dont want to buy a set that will not improve.
Extremely appreciative, in advance, for every reply and all opinions welcomed.

Table

The cheap polyester balls burn the heck out of cloth.

I have some used but playable sets of aramith balls forsale-
Aramith crown standard - $30.00+ flat rate shipping
Aramith premier- $40+ flat rate shipping

I also have used sets of magnum/non poly balls for $20+shipping.

I have new aramith sets as well but you can expect to $pend more than three times the amount of the used balls.

CUE BALL NOT INCLUDED.

Those are burn marks which happens more with cheap balls that have more friction.

I actually bought a set of cheap balls with my new table so I had cheap balls like they do at the place I play at as they do play a little different. I also got a set Aramith balls. After about 20 mins at the table I put the cheap ones up and they will never be used again. They were marking up the cloth so bad it was ridiculous.

As dontlitethat said, the better balls are more expensive as I paid $360 for my set of Aramith Tournament Pro Cup Pool Balls (value pak).
