Bar Box Bonanza Series 9-Ball Event
April 13/14 @ The New Green Room
We had every strong amateur turn out. Drawling players from W.V. , N.C. ,P.A. and Maryland. Ryan Jones the winner of Danny Bells Maryland 9-ball Bar Box Open. Shawn Toni who has won 3 Finley's tournaments. Some other players were Neal Brown, Keith Sutton, Mark Ford, Billy Bickford, Ashley Cartwright Derek Crothers to mentions a few.
Top half of the bracket was Shawn Toni making his way thru players like Brian Taylor, Kyle Dilly, Jerry Shepard and Neal Brown giving him a shot at the hot seat. On the bottom half it was all Clint Clayton a home room favorite. Battling it out with Joey Scarlato, Jeff Hairston, Curtis Markham and Dollar Dave. The hot seat was set Between Shawn and Clint, with Clint edging out Shawn for the hot seat.
The loser side had a very impressive run Keith Sutton lost his first match a rattled off 6 wins in a row over some good players. Home room favorite Mark "Donut" Ford fell short a along with Paul Cogle, Ashley Cartwright, Garcia Bouie, Brian Taylor and Dollar Dave. Keith battled back to take 4th place. Neal Brown won hill/hill against Keith setting up a rematch with Shawn Toni. Shawn was ready coming off the loss against Clint and wanted another chance at snapping this event off. But Clint didn't give in. Right from the start Clint was running on pure adrenaline. not looking back in the one set final. The time I checked the score it was 4 to 3 Clint and in 20 minutes it was 8 to 3 Clint and looked to be over but Clint missed an routine out. Giving the table back to Shawn. Alternating breaks gives back to Clint and he finishes him off by break and run.....
A big thanks goes out to Chris and Gary owners of The New Green Room. The whole staff for putting up with some playing fools, Charlie from Charlie's Pro Shop in helping us out with selling The tour series shirt.. And all the players that showed up and played there ass off!!!!
