My doctor told me to stop running because it was hard on my shoulder. So I need the exercise to sleep. Of course he told me to quit playing pool too... but what does he know? I'm one-stroking everything to stay loose and try to keep moving. It's sort of a combined pool match aerobic session. If I can just quit looking at the contact point and look where my stick is going I should get a lot more consistent very quickly. It takes me a couple of solid weeks of playing to quit looking at that damned object ball all the time.

Glad it's helping. It's what I started out playing. It really makes you have to be creative and learn a lot of different shots. It's got to be the ultimate pool game, why else would they have numbers on the balls? I want to work my way up to the 15 ball ghost, he's my idol... I might need pockets a few inches bigger though.5ballcharlie said:your idea of playing 15 ball rotation has helped me alot. It makes 9 ball look alot easier.
That's a good score. Getting the first few games is the hardest part.laser2507 said:Ive just done nine ball ghost, lost 11-5, lol, thats with my strong hand![]()
The object ball is a shark. I aim with my tip to a spot relative to the ghost ball. No english, shoot through the center of the ghost ball. Side english, shoot through the side of the ghost ball and stroke to fully deflect the cueball and not let it curve. Bottom right, aim for the bottom right of the ghost ball, etc. There are times when you can't really do this, but they should be few and far between.PlynSets said:Another stupid question here.. Why would you want to stop looking at the contact point / object ball?
(Valid Point about the not taking so long.)

It wasn't that hot - that day, lol!uwate said:After reading this thread its pretty clear you are a very determined individual. 33 sets of races to 5 in a hot garage with 4" pockets, all in one day is quite an eye opener for those of us who think they have passion for this game. Congrats on your achievements, you are earning every bit of your success in pool.

Just thought I would post some practice sessions results to inspire Dr. Cue's Protege, and maybe others. I haven't been playing due to severe shoulder problems in my shooting arm. So I switched, but it still hurts! Wish me luck. Keep watching, Protege and see if I stay on a pattern.
I say I play 12-ball ghost speed, even wrong handed (when in dead punch). But notice the horrible scores, Protege, with ball in hand even! Do you think I'll make it up that high?
