I've been debating about have a cue built and love the hoppe look. I do want to do something slightly different though. I was thinking about reversing the pattern and points. Does anyone have pictures of anything like this? Just thought it might look kind of cool, tradtional yet original.

-R- reversed Hoppe Full splice Brazilian Rosewood Birdseye Maple

Do you mean like this cue made by Jerry Rauenzahn? It has Brazilian Rosewood on the nose and Birdseye Maple for the bottom half of the cue. It will have a 1/2 joint Stainless Steel joint and 5/16-14 SS pin and matching ringwork at joint points and Hoppe ring area.

That's pretty close to what I was thinking. I was also looking for something that might have the butt sleeve finished. I'm thinking about turning the veneers "inside out" and kind of reversing the butt. Basically taking the point wood and putting a rambo style plate on it.

Looks sweet too by the way.

Jerry always sends more pics as the cue progresses. When he completes the taper after he let's it rest for a month I'll post more to share how nice it looks with the ringwork and SS 1/2 joint with the pin mounted before finish.

I have others I can share when I get time.
