as most of you know i went on a SERIOUS bender trying to win this DVD. I had over 50% of the posts in the thread, and I didnt get to post as much as I wanted.. lets just say i wanted this BADLY

and let me also say, IT WAS WORTH IT!

I ended up choosing Vol 2 its a very solid DVD. this is the 1st instructional pool DVD i have watched, and i was very impressed. I wish I could afford the other 2, lets just say that i WILL be buying once I can.. they are available at www.mastering-pool.com

The good:

- nice and clear naration
- great instruction, broken down easily enough for new comers, but not annoyingly if you already know the game (i hope you know what i mean)
- fantastic imaging in the examples using the 3D software
- good selection of shots, i hate when someone tries to teach you or show you something but only gives one examplue, this DVD doesnt
- each section is broken down and focuses on the basics of the theory, also then showing and explaining how those basics can be used in many other shots and many other situations
- best of all, video really makes you think, and realize things you didnt before, or may have forgotten
- cant say enough about the fun of watching Mika shoot.. very smooth player, made me realize just how bad I am hahha

The bad:

- other than wanting to see the other 2 right away, nothing much at all! a great dvd!

im not good at writting reviews.. but wanted to get something out there.. i only watched this video once, and a few of the full run outs (part of special features).. i intend to study it more, and really get down and try to use these things in my game until they are 2nd nature

again, shop for these dvds at www.mastering-pool.com .. they are CHEAP!

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the AZ board!

Just ordered the whole set and can't wait for it to show up. I was skeptical of ordering an instructional, but after reading several reviews from people here I decided to buy it.

Too bad I had to wait an extra two weeks. It's my birthday present which was on the 23rd. My fiancee's employer decided to all the sudden switch from paying every week to every two weeks and her first paycheck happened to be after my birthday.

I hope to purchase these DVDs. Could somebody tell me who the narrator is? I guess it's the same person throughout the DVDs, but he is speaking in the sample clips on the website and I'm wondering who it is.

Thanks.

i kinda wish he taught more advance stuff like advance patterning and shot selection. i had all three.
