Not a fan of conical either. I wouldn't really call the Revo 12.4 a pro-taper although it didn't bother me all that much. I've shot with a Jacoby Black, and while that was a true pro taper in my opinion and felt great, the deflection was way more than I expected. I've also shot with OB's cf shaft (not the wood with cf core, but the all cf one), which also had a long similar pro taper that felt great, but deflection was a little more than the Revo (much less than the Jacoby). Both of these had a firmer hit than the Revo though. I suppose a tip change on the Revo might do the trick to get a firmer hit.The 12.9 may be slightly stiffer. I only have shot with 12.4's which I really like. I am so glad I didn't go 11.8 I got a break cue that is conical like the 11.8 and the pro taper is far superior than conical imho.
