Rewrap handle seal

Using linen wrap do you reseal the handle after cleaning off the old glue? There is generally some glue residue from the cleaning. Who does what?

I use my shaft sealer.

I dont seal the handle........wouldnt the glue seal it?

I never even gave it a thought before reading this post
