Hello,
I am listing a one of a kind pool table made by RH Lane. RH Lane was a world class carpenter whose work is unparalleled and he recently passed away. Now we (his family) are trying to sell his remaining handmade furniture. You can view his works & more photos of this pool table at his website rhlane . net
We are listing this pool table because frankly we have no place to put it. We are looking to sell it for $30,000 and we are open to discussion on the price. However, final pricing will be voted on by his remaining family. The photos I have posted are photos of it after he first completed it and you can view more on his site that was mentioned above. Unfortunately he had to take it apart to move it and he died before he could full assemble it. It needs to be re-felted & it needs some minor touch ups and then you would have a beautiful one of kind pool table.
I have included his own personal description from his website below.
"Let us now consider what one will see in the following pictures as you page through this site. The structural wood of this table is one and one half inch white oak. With the exception of the legs which are solid satinwood the rest of the table is veneered with one-eighth inch book matched Ceylon satinwood. Satinwood is quite possibly the most beautiful and figured furniture hardwood in the world. It was first used on English furniture in the 1760's and from then until the 1820's it was the wood of choice for the finest pieces of Sheraton and Regency furniture. It is now extremely rare--and rarely used. It is of a lustrous golden yellow color, has an exceptional rippled grain called bee's wing, takes a beautiful polish and can be stained practically any color. With a gloss varnish finish it has a brilliancy and sheen that no other wood can match."
