First let me start off by providing my definitions of two styles of play, then I'll pose my questions.
Rhythm Player: These players are looking to catch a gear and get in stroke. To do so, they play at their optimum rhythm (usually fairly quick) from shot one. If they miss balls because they aren't in gear yet they don't worry, because they figure that if they keep firing at balls they will loosen up and get in dead stroke sooner or later, and when they do they will play so good that early mistakes will be compensated for.
Deliberate Players: These players are focused on trying hard to make good on every opportunity. They won't shoot until they feel that they are ready to. Early in matches this usually means that they start fairly slow. As the match progresses they may get in stroke, in which case they will speed up a bit. If they don't get in stroke, however, the will continue to grind away all match long.
