Rhythm

I recently came across this gem from the greatest boxer of all time, Sugar Ray Robinson: "Rhythm is everything in boxing. Every move you make starts with your heart, and that's in rhythm or you're in trouble." Very true for pool as well.

I find if I maintain rythm on the table I am able to focus my mind on the shot and not have time to over analyze or be distracted. Rythm is definitely a pre-requisite to good shooting.

P.S. You can see on my sig below Pacman showing Margarito some good rythm too. No wonder he's a decent poolplayer.

Willie agrees

Willie Mosconi said you can not be a great player without rhythm.

A tricky shot in the middle of a run should be a lot easier than as
an opening shot...people that take too much time over the ball
are always cold.

Amazing how some great players got there anyway....
,,Willie would have said they would have been even better with rhythm.
