No ideaWhy the difference in dot patterns?
If I were Richard I would have turned down the "tweak" and kept the symmetry.Cue makers like Richard, & other noteworthy names, like symmetry. The diaper of the cue at the joint is appreciably
narrower than beneath the wrap in the butt sleeve. Both double nickel rings use what looks to be MOP stitches &
both rings use eight (8) stitches. Due to the larger diameter of the lower ring, the stitch pattern will be wider than
the stitch patter at the joint. At first blush, the rings initially look like the design is not symmetrical but it actually is.
In all likelihood, it would require 10-12 more stitches to get 8 of them to align with the joint rings. And then the
design would really be incongruous. Now the dot patter is different but that’s pretty common. This Bushka design
was made just like any other top cue maker might make it, except for the dot pattern in the sleeve. This was a custom
ordered cue so the original customer might have requested a little tweak. You can tell it’s a custom order since he dated the cue. Richard is a real craftsman & his Bushka design cues are universally recognized to be among the best.
Very nice piece. I am interested if the price is little easier….RICHARD BLACK BUSHKA STYLE MADE IN 1995
