I guess I am a sucker for these simpler cues. Just back from a refinish and new wrap. Rick Howard did the refinish and he said he used old Blue Mountain wrap that he got from Richard decades ago. Rick made a new shaft and we retained the old orignal shaft that has been either turned or sanded down to 12mm or less (probably less). I bought the little cue from a picture and had it sent directly to Rick for a shaft and refinish.

The cue is absolutely loaded with birdseye and really looks classy. I havent had a chance to measure the original shaft or weigh the cue, but it seems to closer to 20 oz.

Enjoy the pictures.

Really nice example of Richards earlier player cue....
Great choice with Rick Howard on the refinish too.
"Cant say enough good about Rick as a person,

Piloted SS joints have always been my fave. I'm so used to that hit that I always go back to it. I built my stroke around ss jointed cues.
That one's a Beaut!!! Nice Axe my friend. Enjoy!!

I love this cue! I've been itching for an old RB cue for years...steel joint, player.

I did have a chance to check out cue, its 18 ounce including the new shaft. Rick's new shaft weighs in at 3.8 ounces and 13mm. The original shaft is exactly 12mm.

Played a few racks with each shaft, and plays great with Rick's shaft. The 12mm is smaller than I normally play with but you can tell it is great old shaftwood.

Just a boy with a new toy.
