This is a 1 of 1 Richard Black cue that was made specifically for 3-cushion, its the only one and you wont see any Richard Black cues with this long pin, Richard Black cues are generally the standard 5/16" x 14 SS joint we always see, well this cue has 3/8" x 10 joint pin and is 2 inches in length!

This cue was made for Sid Banner, who the hell is he? He was a very formidable 3-Cushion/Billiard player here in South FL, he played with the likes of Sang Lee, Ceulemans, Blomdahl, etc. He also opened up a very big poolroom in Boca Raton, FL called Boca Billiards which housed a 21 Gold Crowns, and if I remember correctly 4 heated 3-Cushion tables as well. Here is a link that gives a little more info on Mr Banner.

So in the early 80's Sid had contacted Richard Black to make a 3-Cushion cue, RB told him "He don't do those" and after many and numerous attempts, Richard Black continued to say "NO". Around 1986 Sids 3-Cushion status was becoming well known and he continued insisting for a 3-Cushion cue. Black finally agreed and Sid had also taken advantage to have him make a very decorative pool cue in unison for his son as a gift, at that time the cue was around $4000 which was quite a bit in that era, nonetheless Richard Black made the 1st and only 3-cushion cue for Sid Banner, signed and dated accordingly. In the 90's Sid had a extra shaft made by Bob Manzino also here in South FL for pool, by the looks of it, he used it once/twice. In addition, Sid was a really tall guy, so Richard Black made the butt at 29.75, as it is, 3-Cushion cues are generally 55"/56" in total length, this cue was close to 59". The butt is straight, and both shafts are straight, very slight can only tell by looking at light underneath shaft when rolling in table, wouldn't effect play, considering its only 34 years old. From what I understand, I'm not a 3 cushion player, though I understand the game, this cue was able to make extreme shots that were unnatural, such as straight force follow shots 5 rails, for 3 cushion, I cant say anything about the pool shaft, I've never hit with this cue, but Bob Manzino doesn't make no junk as his reputation proceeds him.

Weigh In:

Butt 15.71 oz.
3-C Shaft 3.91 oz. 11.5 mm
Pool Shaft 3.49 oz. 12.1 mm

Cue is a rare and really the only one in existence like it, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me accordingly, if you are in South FL you are more then welcome to see in person, thank you for your interest.

DROPPED to $2600.00
