Well there is the pic of R. Black engraved on the joint despite the seller's insistence that it's Richard Black......

i assume you meant where instead of there.if you look at the picture of the joint of the cue you will see it engraved in the steel joint.not in the shaft or the butt.look at the picture on the e bay ad of the steel joint.
 
Other than having one real gnarly looking piece of shaft wood, what's the problem ?? Looks like a pretty nice old cue with straight inlays.

I've seen him post cues before and he use to say that the cues weren't in his home but in a bank vault on his auctions , I think he was affraid someone might break into his house! up there in the boondocks thats what happens if you advertise something! but he is a cue collector for sure!
